funfacts Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the mobile application funfacts (Package / Bundle Identifier: com.sirimirilabs.funfacts), developed and provided by sirimiri labs ("we", "us", or "our").

          Privacy Philosophy: funfacts is built to be a calm, intellectually enriching duo-learning experience. We do not sell user data, we do not show third-party advertisements, and we do not track you across other applications or websites.
        

1. Information We Collect

We deliberately design funfacts to collect the minimum amount of information necessary to deliver its core functionality:

A. Authentication & User Identity

Anonymous Authentication ID: Upon first launch, the app generates a cryptographic anonymous user identifier via Firebase Authentication. We do not require your email address, phone number, real name, or passwords to use the app.
Display Name / Nickname: The app assigns a random editorial pseudonym (e.g., "Curator 412"). You may optionally customize this display name in Settings. This name is stored in our database so your linked partner can see who dropped a fact to them.

B. Duo Mode & Shared Content

Partner Links & Drops: When you connect with a partner via a 6-character invite code, we store the pair association and the facts you drop to each other (along with associated stamp reactions) in Google Cloud Firestore to enable synchronization across both devices.
Local Archive: Your saved facts and viewing history are stored locally on your device using on-device storage.

C. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

Purchase History & Subscription Status: If you purchase Funfacts Pro, our subscription infrastructure provider, RevenueCat, processes your receipt tokens and anonymous customer ID to validate your active subscription and unlock premium features across sessions and between linked partners.
No Payment Card Storage: All transactions are securely processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Sirimiri labs never sees, collects, or stores your credit card details, bank accounts, or billing addresses.

D. Device Identifiers

Anonymous Identifiers: We utilize anonymous app-level installation identifiers necessary to maintain your database session and validate app store entitlements.

E. Application Usage & Analytics

Aggregated Feature & Reading Telemetry: We collect pseudonymous application telemetry (such as card reading activity, archive saves, partner drops, and paywall interactions) to understand reader engagement, diagnose crashes, and refine the reading experience.
Device & Diagnostic Metrics: We collect technical diagnostic information, including device model, operating system version, app version, and general geographic region (country or city derived from IP address; no GPS or precise location). IP addresses are dropped immediately after deriving coarse region.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

No Precise Location Data: We do not request, access, or track your GPS or precise location. We only derive general country or city level geographic regions from IP addresses for performance telemetry, with IP addresses dropped immediately thereafter.
No Personal Identifiers: We do not collect your physical address, phone number, contact list, or biometric data.
No Camera or Microphone Access: The app does not record audio or capture images.
No Third-Party Advertising: funfacts contains zero third-party advertising SDKs and does not track you for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on trusted infrastructure providers who act strictly as service providers processing data on our behalf:

Google Firebase & Google Analytics for Firebase (Google LLC): Used for anonymous authentication, cloud database storage (Firestore), and pseudonymous product telemetry to analyze feature performance. 4. Data Encryption & Security

We take the security of your data seriously. All communications between the funfacts application and our backend services (Firestore and RevenueCat) are strictly encrypted in transit using industry-standard HTTPS / Transport Layer Security (TLS). Database access is governed by strict security rules requiring authenticated sessions.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

You have full control over your data:

Instant In-App Deletion: You can permanently delete all your data at any time directly within the app. Go to Settings > Delete Account & Data. This action immediately disconnects your duo pairing, permanently deletes all drops sent by you from our cloud database, wipes all local storage caches on your device, logs out of RevenueCat, and deletes your anonymous authentication profile.
Email Requests: You may also request deletion of any associated data by emailing us at developer@sirimirilabs.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". We will process verified requests within 30 days.

6. Children's Privacy

funfacts is an educational broadsheet curated for general audiences and curious minds aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at developer@sirimirilabs.com, and we will promptly remove such information.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect enhancements to our features or regulatory requirements. Any updates will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of funfacts following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
